Help us fund stationery, text books and other critical resources to improve education in Thailand
With little or no government funding for most communities in Thailand, it becomes a challenge to tackle the poverty or expected life cycle. We have been working in the community for several years and have supported the development of community members to start projects to tackle the issues they face. Providing quality education and safe community spaces to engage the youth, has now become our main focus with this project as we aim to break the cycle of poverty at the most basic level
Education in Bangkok and the major cities are known to be very good but this is not the situation in the rural areas. As the education system is not equal this project is working in the most rural and remote area’s of Thailand to help fight the cycle of poverty by promoting education to young people and providing support to families to keep children in school for longer
Our communities have passionate and highly driven individuals that are ready to engage their peers and tackle global issues however with no safe community spaces, lack of education and financial support from the government these individuals do not have the resources to make a difference. By providing access to these resources, particularly to the children in these communities, we can break the cycle of poverty as they will become empowered and in-turn empower their surrounding community
By funding materials, resources and implementing programs that will be self-sustaining with each partner we hope to develop the community and improve the quality of education the children receive. As children move from grade to grade, they will be able to use the same resources. Examples of such resources include projectors, computers, sunscreen dispensers, desks and an established garden.
By providing a new source of funding we will be able to help our community in a multitude of new ways to become sel-sustaining as well as providing an improved quality of education which we hope will allow children to break the cycle of poverty. Currently, we have limited budgets for resources that we use in our classes and for small items our partners may need. With funding, we will be able to help and support our partners more, both in and outside the classroom.

Hello everyone,
As we move closer to our 20-year anniversary for Action Change in 2026, I’ve been looking back at our work in Phang Nga, Thailand. It’s amazing to see how a project that started as an emergency response has grown into a steady, long-term support system for the community there.
In our last update, we talked a lot about getting the classroom ready—focusing on the essentials like desks, computers, and projectors to make sure the kids had a proper place to learn. I’m so happy to share that the students are now fully settled in. Seeing them at those new desks, focused and excited to use the technology we’ve provided, is a huge reminder of why we do this. It’s not just about the furniture; it’s about giving these children a safe space where they feel respected and ready to dream big.
Over the last few months, our focus has expanded into the “Safe Space” outside the classroom too. The community garden we’ve been working on is becoming a real hub. It’s not just growing food; it’s growing a sense of belonging for the youth who spend their afternoons there instead of on the streets. Our community teacher has been a total rockstar, bridging the gap between education and life skills for these kids.
Looking ahead, we are gearing up for a big push on health and hygiene. Living in these communities can be tough, and preventable illnesses often keep kids out of school. We’re planning a series of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) workshops to teach basic health practices. Our goal is to provide hygiene packs for 200 community members—something as simple as soap, toothbrushes, and clean towels can make a massive difference in keeping a family healthy. Thank you for being part of this journey for two decades. We couldn’t do it without you!
