How a smile can brighten your day

On 18th July 2022, we celebrated Nelson Mandela Day by planting trees and educating the children at our partnered education foundation in a township, Cape Town, South Africa. It was such an inspirational and joyous day, giving back to the community and our planet.

Volunteering

Thank you to our corporate sponsors, donations from our loyal donors, and volunteers from across the globe for making this day possible. 23 fruit trees are planted which will continue feeding the children at the school as well as people from the community. Our volunteers dug holes, painted rocks, planted trees, and prepared some delicious ‘boerewors’ rolls for the children. A successful day, feeding 120 tummies and learning about the importance of looking after and giving back to the Earth.

Not only did these students have the biggest smiles which melted our hearts, but the hope and joy we saw in their eyes, encouraged us to continue making a difference and ensuring a sustainable future.

Corporate involvement

We hear and read about how the epidemic has impacted many around the world. And how several people have gone days without a meal.

We can make a difference. We saw the great impact volunteering and donations had on these children and the community on Nelson Mandela Day. Help us in creating these smiles and hopeful eyes throughout the year.

Improve morale in your business by offering volunteering opportunities to your employees. A new study finds that creating a culture that encourages volunteering can help employers boost employee morale, workplace atmosphere, and brand perception.

South Africa is a country with high inequality rates and a lack of access to quality education for thousands. Education is key and by supporting children in their most critical years of learning, we hope to break the cycle of poverty. Help us provide opportunities to continue studying in higher education and work towards zero poverty.
