Help Feed Hungry Children In Zimbabwe

For $39 a month you could feed a child 2 meals a day. Help us stop child hunger

Despite a change of leadership, nothing has changed for the ordinary citizen of Zimbabwe. Prices keep escalating and unemployment is around 99%. This project aims to assist the 250-day scholars at the local Primary School with daily nutritious lunch, essential stationery, exercise and textbooks, by assisting with these essential resources we hope to alleviate external struggles so that the children can focus on their education and continue further.

A hungry child can not focus on learning. To break the cycle of poverty we need education and for our children to learn. A simple hot school meal provided each day will help stimulate the young minds and begin to break the poverty cycle that Zimbabwe faces. This project feeds over 250 students daily from your donations!

For years, Zimbabwe has been devastated by political instability, economic crises, drought, high unemployment and the spread of HIV. Our project, lying far away from the political hub of the country, has been particularly hard hit. Our community schools presently have 400-day scholars, most do not have access to food and come to school hungry. Studies show that students are not able to learn when hungry and therefore can’t learn and become ambassadors to break the poverty cycle.

The project, overseen by The Stone Hills Wildlife Sanctuary for the past 12 years, supports local primary schools in rural Zimbabwe. All our day scholars receive a lunch funded by you, this is most of the time, the only meal they receive in a day. Providing lunch helps our students engage and focus on a much-needed education to give a chance to access employment and break the poverty cycle. Our project not only funds the local school meals but also provides access to education for all.

Our objectives are simple: to continue to assist the local community in every way we can – particularly with the feeding of primary school children, and providing resources to maximise their education and eventually their employment opportunities. This will help them concentrate and focus on their studies while they are at school and will also provide them with some of the nutrients that they are lacking.
