When children are diagnosed with cancer they are often immediately whisked from their local hospital. This happens so quickly that they and the parents are totally unprepared for what happens next. The ‘We’ve Got Your Back’ packs are loaded with dozens of items from drink containers to board games, from colouring books and journals to luxury blankets, socks, gloves, headphones, chargers and much more including support information. It’s a really great way to help signpost services for the family.
Cancer is a very progressive illness and soon as diagnosed things move super quick and it is a very tough time for families to process with no time to prepare.
It is a scary time and having an experienced team of volunteers to bridge the gap from medical professionals to help with unanswered questions is life changing and a great support for many families.
With your support we are able to provide children with cancer and their family who are rushed for immediate cancer treatment with a We Have Your Back Pack ensuring they have all they need during their stay in hospital while also being there to support them.
We want to ensure that children with cancer and their families are supported at a time when they need support the most. Being a child diagnosed with cancer or having a child diagnosed with cancer is one of the most traumatic events in anyone life. The emotional, physical and financial impact is hard and often devastating. The We Have Your Back Pack Projects helps reduce the emotional and financial strain. We want to provide these packs to all children upon being diagnosed
Support for the family through this difficult time is essential. One day we hope a cure for Cancer will eliminate this pack. Within the packs we provide information about the other services that the charity provides including 1:1 emotional support, respite holiday breaks, care and hardship grants so we know when accessing these services families will benefit both financially and with their emotional wellbeing. This provides long term relief on the NHS and medical services by signposting to other
